How do we know who is on which team?

  • ALL players will be given a playing T-shirt to identify their platoon.
  • This will be worn as a playing top so everyone knows who you are playing for.
  • Players keep their T-shirts at the end of the day.
  • They are a souvenir of the event.
  • Players will also be given an armband to identify their team.  The armband must be worn at all times when the player is 'live' in the game area. If a player is eliminated, then he/she should remove the armband and raise it along with their marker as per standard scenario rules.

Am I allowed to wear historic WW2 dress?

Yes - but at organisers/marshal discretion

The two Officers commanding will both be in period costume.

Other players will be permitted to wear historic dress at the discretion of the Organisers/Marshals according to the following guidelines:

  • Players will be asked to wear their playing t-shirts if their historic dress is deemed to be confusing in *any* degree. For example if a German player is dressing in a top that is Olive Drab or Khaki this can lead to confusion as to whether he/she is actually playing for one of the British platoons. Players must wear historic dress that makes both their platoon and team obvious.
  • Modern British Army [DPM] or German [Flecktarn] camo is not considered as historically authentic. Players are welcome to wear these colours as appropriate, but will still have to wear their platoon t-shirts on top of their camo tops to indicate which platoon they are in.
  • Players will be required to wear their armbands when 'live' on the field
  • Players must wear a full face paintball mask at all times
  • SS regalia and Nazi party symbols will not be permitted. Swastika armbands and flags will not be allowed

If you have any questions in regards to specifics regarding historic dress [including where to obtain it], then please do not hesitate to email:    dress@invasion1940.co.uk     Every effort will be made to assist you with any enquiries you may have.

Can I use a radio?

Yes - PMR446 radios are permitted as long as the channels used by the organisers and marshals are not used by players. These must remain clear for the safety of all players. Use of these channels by players will be penalised.

  • The Marshall and organiser frequencies will be advised in due course
  • The frequencies used by either team and by particular platoons will be advised by the particular team or platoon leaders in due course.

Will the site be open on the Saturday [9th June]?

Yes

Players will be able to both play paintball on the site as well as undertake reconnaissance of the site.

Further details of Saturday events will be published shortly.
